THE FULL COVERAGE CONCEALERS BATTLE

Concealers are definitely my favorite make up item. No matter what happens I don't go anywhere without
having my dark circles and hyperpigmentation covered. I really don't mind leaving home without eye or lip make up but my skin has to look as best as possible. Insecurity, low self-esteem? Probably. Having suffered of acne for many years made me feel ashamed of my naked skin... and still does. For this reason I have always looked for full coverage concealers and unfortunately, I tried too many that claimed to cover blemishes and hyperpigmentation and failed.
Now that I'm a bit older and that I've experienced many concealers, I can say I've found those that work the best on my skin, that give my skin the most flawless finish and most important; they do not break me out.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage SC-3 ($32.00): A heavy creamy concealer that can be very hard to blend if you do not warm it up on your fingers first. Best suitable on oily skin types as it is oil free, sets on the skin fast and won't move during the day. It can definitely cause dry patches so I'd stay away from it if I had dry skin. It comes with two shades that are very different so I only use half product which I think it's bit of a waste. One last thing, I never use this as a under eye concealer as it is very heavy for that area and can look cakey.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer NW20 ($18.00): Another heavy creamy concealer that feels very similar to the Laura Mercier one but this one feels a bit oilier and it's definitely easier to work with. This is the second pot I've bought and it's lasting more than a year so far. Compared to the Laura Mercier one, the Studio Finish Concealer is less heavy and still very pigmented. As it's not oil-free I only use it on my eye area and it really helps to neutralize dark circles.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NC 30 ($19.00): My all time favorite. It has a liquid formula and you need the tiniest bit to cover big areas. The pigmentation is insane, it covers everything and sets very fast. It comes with a pump that can be tricky and give you too much product. I use this to cover my hyperpigmentation and any kind of breakouts. It's oil-free and suitable for all skin types. I also use it on my eye area and it works beautifully.

ELF Maximum Concealer Nude (NW 25.. I believe) ($3.00): Last but not least, this is my latest concealer purchase and I'm loving it. It has a creamy and dense texture that feels like a very light-weight foundation. This concealer is the easiest one to blend and the coverage is really amazing for the price you're paying. As it is a bit lighter than my skin tone I mostly use it on my eyes and it does an amazing job. It works very well covering hyperpigmentation and doesnt not feel heavy on the skin. Another plus? It's oil-free!

I've also been eyeing the Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer but I have just started my first spending ban :( So, what is your favorite concealer?

Los correctores son definitivamente mi maquillaje favorito. No importa lo que pase, no salgo de casa sin tapar mis ojeras y manchas... la verdad que no me importa no tener maquillados los ojos ni los labios pero mi piel tiene que verse lo mejor posible. Inseguridad, baja autoestima? Probablemente. Sufrí de acné por varios años y nunca me gustó andar con la piel desnuda. Por eso siempre busqué correctores de alta cobertura y lamentablemente pasé por demasiados que prometían tapar manchas  y como siempre, no lo hicieron.

Ahora que estoy un poquito más mayor y con la piel algo mejor, puedo decir que encontré aquellos que dejan mi piel tan bien como si nunca hubiese tenido acné y lo más importante: no me sacan más granos.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage SC-3: Un corrector cremoso bastante pesado que puede resultar díficil de difuminar si no se calienta entre los dedos primeros. Perfecto para pieles oleosas ya que es oil-free, se adapta a la piel fácilmente y no se mueve durante el día. No lo recomendaría para pieles secas ya que puede hacer que la piel se vea todavía más seca y pesada. Es genial para manchas por su alta cobertura pero no lo usaría en el rea de los ojos porque puede ser muy pesado.

Mac Studio Finish Concealer NW20: Otro corrector cremoso parecido al de Laura Mercier pero este es un poquito más oleoso y más fácil de difuminar. Es el segundo que compro y me está durando más de un año. Comparado con el de Laura Mercier este es menos pesado pero muy pigmentado. Ya que no es oil-free lo uso solo en el área de los ojos y realmente ayuda a iluminar la zona y corregir ojeras.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NC 30: Mi favorito. Tiene una formula bastante líquida que cuando se seca no se mueve durante todo el día. La pigmentación es increíble y se necesita muy poquito para abarcar zonas grandes. Es oil-free así que lo uso en toda la cara y hasta ahora es el corrector que mejores resultados me da. Viene con un dosificador que puede ser algo complicado de usar ya que deposita demasiado producto cuando realmente se necesita muy poco.

ELF Maximum Concealer Nude (NW 25.. Creo): Ultimo pero no menos importante. Esta fue mi última compra en materia de correctores y lo amo. Me costó unos 3 o 4 dólares y para mi vale mucho más que eso porque es una pequeña maravilla. Tiene una consistencia entre cremosa y líquida (como una base) y no se siente pesado en la piel. Este corrector es el más facil de difuminar y tiene un acabado muy natural. Como es un tonito más claro que mi piel lo uso siempre en la zona de los ojos y a veces en el rostro y lo amo. Otro punto a favor? Es oil-free! 

También anduve mirando el corrector Full Cover Concealer de Make up Forever pero dado que mi economía no está en su mejor momento voy a tener que dejarlo pasar.

Love at first blink: Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara

I remember one day I was seeing a review about this mascara on a UK blog and I thought like "Woah, nice... but I'll never buy it, the UK is too far away". But then the next month I was in Heathrow having one or two problems with my hand luggage (too many cosmetics) and while a very handsome English man was helping me out I heard a security guy telling a lady that she could get her medication from Boots just downstairs. 

Now, if you have been to Heathrow many times or if you live in the UK that must be nothing exciting, but for me it was like going to Disneyland. 

And you know the feeling you get when you go somewhere new and you like everything but can't choose anything. Then I remembered this mascara and for only £4 I picked it together with other things.

The Seventeen Doll'd Up mascara comes with a curved plastic wand that helps separate lashes very well. The formula is not too dry so it holds the lashes and allows you to apply more than two coats without clumps.

My lashes are as terrible as in the picture: short, thin, lighter than my natural hair color and this Doll'd Up provides lenght and volume without clumps. I love this as my everyday mascara and for special days I prefer using the YSL Babydoll mascara.

Un día estaba viendo una review de esta máscara en un blog de UK y tuve esa sensasión típica argentina de "Ay quiero, pero nunca la voy a conseguir". Lo que no sabía es que un par de meses después iba a estar en Heathrow teniendo algunos problemas con seguridad debido a mi equipaje de mano (demasiados cosméticos) y mientras un inglés (hermoso) me ayudaba, escuché a una señora del area de seguridad decirle a una pasajera que podía comprar su medicación en Boots, un piso abajo. 

Para las que no saben, Boots es como un Farmacity británico y oh dios venden de todo. Me acuerdo que me empezaron a subir los latidos del corazón cuando entré! tenían de todo y a muy buenos precios! Ahí mismo recordé que quería probar esta máscara de pestañas y por 4 libras (unos 44 pesos) fue mía.

Esta máscara viene con una brochita de plástico curvada que separa muy bien las pestañas. La formula no es nada acuosa por lo cual sostiene la forma de las pestañas y permite poner mas de dos capas sin que se pegoteen. Como verán en las fotos mis pestañas son horribles: cortas, rectas y más claras que mi color de pelo natural y Doll'd up las alarga y da volumen. Me encanta como máscara de uso diario pero para ocasiones especiales prefiero usar la YSL Babydoll.

MAC Cranberry and life update

 Sometimes it's not possible to be a good blogger. I think of blogging all the time but I just can't seem to sit down and write a bit. I've been working for three weeks non stop, kind of sure I didn't have a single day off but I can't complain cause things are going very well.

I recently started to work in a theatre on the weekends as part of the make up artists staff for a new play (and the premiere is tonight!). Everything is so new and fresh, we are not sure how it's gonna turn out but I really like it, the people is so nice that I don't even mind waking up at 8 am on Sundays and not getting paid for it. 

I've also just got a new job that starts on October and I'm quite excited about it, sadly it's not beauty related but I get to speak English all day and the pay is good. It's just for a few months but suits me perfect as I will soon move to Sweden and need to save lots of money.

And besides all that, I've been working on my own doing peoples make up a lot lately, usually after my main job... meaning I get home after 21hs. 

I'm very very tired but I feel that my life is starting to make sense... I know that can sound a bit dramatic but this year wasn't my year and things are getting better now. Maybe nobody cares of what I'm writing now and I should go straight to the review but well, I wanted to explain a bit why I haven't been blogging often :)

Working in the theathre is awesome and we get to play with a lot of colors and textures. I pretty much wear neutral eyeshadows all the time so I felt like doing something different now that I'm inspired.

I took my mom's MAC Cranberry eyeshadow the other day 'cause I thought I could needed it for a work.

MAC Cranberry is a dark berry red with a frost finish, very pigmented and absolutely perfect for fall/winter time. There are so many ways to use it but I opted to do a smokey eye with some black eyeshadow. I usually blend everything when I get close to the brow bone but this time I didn't, I wanted a very dramatic finish and so I also added some dark plum lipstick.

A veces se complica ser una buena blogger. Pienso bastante en ellos pero simplemente no puedo sentarme a escribir, vengo trabajando tres semanas seguidas sin día de descanso pero no me quejo porque las cosas andan bien.
Recientemente empecé a trabajar en el teatro El Colonial en una obra que empieza bien desde abajo y está hecha con mucho amor y dedicación: La Venganza del Conde de Montecristo (estrena hoy a la noche!!). Soy parte del staff de maquilladoras y me estoy diviertiendo demasiado, la paso tan bien que no me importa mucho levantarme a las 8 am los domingos y que no me paguen.
También conseguí un nuevo trabajo fulltime en una empresa que aunque no tenga nada que ver con el rubro belleza, me da la posibilidad de hablar inglés todo el día y poder ahorrar para el viaje. Últimamente venía trabajando en mi laburo actual que no me gusta mucho y quería cambiar pero ser maquilladora freelance no es lo más estable del mundo. Por suerte éste nuevo trabajo es sólo por un par de meses y me viene bien para tener algo fijo antes de irme a Suecia.

Y bueno, esto de estar tanto en contacto con el makeup y trabajar en el teatro te abren la cabeza un poquito, jugamos mucho con los colores y texturas y vengo bastante inspirada. 
Generalmente soy de usar colores neutros en los ojos y si bien quiero probar colores nuevos no me voy a ir directamente al amarillo... probamos con MAC Cranberry?
MAC Cranberry es una sombra roja oscura/bordó con un acabado satinado, la pigmentación es increíble y es un color hermoso para invierno (que lamentablemente ya está terminando). Hay muchas maneras de usarla pero opté por hacer un smokey eye con negro sin difuminar tanto los bordes, dando un efecto bastante dramático al combinarlo con labios oscuros.

A great deal | Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara

When my parents made me they forgot to add the lashes. Almond oild, argan oil... you name it, I tried it.

Nothing really helped expect using a good eyelash curler which I do every time I wear mascara.

So yeah, I'm a bit of mascara freak, I normally don't dare to go out and pick the first mascara I see just because it claims to be the best, I will probably google a million reviews before getting a new mascara.

When I knew I was going to the USA, I asked my friend Yessie to tell me some drugstore must haves and she mentioned the Covergirl Lash Blast mascara and this Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara as well. I found the Covergirl one at Walgreens and it was love at first sight, I didn't bother to try anything else because I had already bought some back ups.

However, a few months later the lovely Yessie sent me a package with lots of goodies and two of these Jordana mascaras she told me about!! I was so excited to try everything and very glad to get two new mascaras cause my Covergirl ones were almost empty.

I tried this mascara the next day and I was actually quite impressed, the formula is great: not too dry, not too wet, just perfect to make my lashes stay up without getting clumpy or go straight again.

The wand is okay, I prefer bigger ones like the one from Covergirl Lash Blash that allows me to comb the lashes pretty well. I'm sure that if this mascara would have another wand I would be able to give my lashes another coat without getting clumps.

The price? Crazy, $2.99! So incredibly cheap for what it is.. I really like how this mascara works on my short, thin eyelashes and I cannot imagine how amazing it would look on thick and long ones!

Cuando mis padres me hicieron claramente se olvidaron de las pestañas. Aceite de almedras, aceite de argan... probé de todo. Nada funciona excepto usar rizador de pestañas cada vez que uso máscara de pestañas.
Así que nada, soy una especie de mascara-freak y jamás compraría una sin haber visto miles de reviews y fotos antes.

Antes de irme de viaje le pregunté a Yessie, una amiga de USA que cosas no podía dejar de comprar y entre algunos nombres mencionó la máscara de Covergirl Lash Blast y Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara. Encontré la de Covergirl y fue amor a primera vista... tan fuerte que no me molesté en probar otras y compré varias de repuesto. 

Pero mi amiga Yessie es tan linda que unos meses después me mando un paquete con un montón de goodies y entre todo lo que había estaban dos máscaras de pestañas, las dos de Jordana y una notita diciendo que me iban a encantar. De la emoción la probé al día siguiente y me impresionó muchísimo  la fórmula es tal cual me gusta a mi: ni muy seca ni muy acuosa, perfecta para secar mis pestañas lo suficientemente rápido y no permitir que pierdan la forma sin dejar grumos.
La brocha o cepillo no está  nada mal, personalmente me gustan más grandes como la de Covergirl Lash Blast que me peina bien las pestañas... estoy segura de que si ésta de Jordana tuviera un mejor cepillo podría darme otra capa sin formar grumos.
El precio es loco; $2.99 USD, casi $18 pesos por una máscara así? Deme 100!
La verdad que me gusta mucho el resultado final en mis pestañitas, no me quiero imaginar lo lindo que quedaría en personas que han sido bendecidas con pestañas largas!
Donde comprar? Que yo sepa sólo en Beautyjoint.com, dejen un comentario si saben algun otro site que shipee a la Argentina!

Best of 2013:Ja nuary to July

The first part of the year is gone... How did this happen so fast? I still cannot believe it.

Talking about beauty, I don't usually do monthly favorites so I thought it would be a good idea to think about the products I've been loving this year. But hey, those would be too many so here is a 'small' list of some products I found this year and that I cannot live without.

Y la primera parte del año se fue... Cómo puede ser?

Hablando de temas de belleza, muchas conocen ese TAG en el mundo blogger que se llama 'Monthy Favorites' donde uno habla de una pequeña cantidad de productos que anduvieron amando ese mes. Yo generalmente no hago esto pero sí encontré varias cositas este año que me encantaron y que ya no puedo vivir sin ellas... Aquí estan:

Eyes: I'm all about neutrals, shimmer or matte I love them all. The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette is pretty much perfect, a great color selection, very pigmented matte eyeshadows and the packaging is light, steady and comes with a big mirror.
I've been also loving all the L'oreal Color Infalible eyeshadows, I own a few and specifically like Iced Latte as it looks great on the browbone and the tear duct area. Many people rave about them, the quality is excelent and they are a great choice if you cannot afford high-end eyeshadows.
Last but not least, MAC Woodwinked is a lovely golden brown that a girl at a Mac counter convinced me to get. It looks gorgeous over black smokey eyes.

Ojos: Todos tonos neutros, shimmer o matte... me gustan todos. La paleta de sombras Naked Basics de Urban Decay fue mi joyita del año, con 5 tonos matte y uno shimmer, alta pigmentación y un packaging liviano pero fuerte se lleva todos mis suspiros. Ah, y tiene un espejote. 

También me encantan las sombras de L'oreal Color Infallible, tengo varias pero Iced Latte es mi preferida porque es ideal para usar en el hueso de la ceja, lagrimal y como iluminador. No siempre se encuentran sombras individuales de tan buena calidad en la farmacia.. La verdad que me gustan mucho y el precio es accesible comparado con sombras Mac por ejemplo.

Última pero no menos imporante, MAC Woodwinked es un marrón con tonos dorados que una vendedora de Mac me convenció de comprar... Es hermosa para usarla sola, con un smokey eye marrón o sobre un smokey eye negro.

Lips: I'm not a girl that wears too much lipstick but when I do it, it has to be something dark. 

During summertime I used Burt's Bees Pink Blossom daily, I don't really like light or bright lip colors but this tinted lip balm has just the enough amount of color I need, just a hint of pink that looks natural and feels very moisturizing.

Mac Rebel and Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick #107 are my favorite autumn/winter lippies. Rebel is a plum shade with an opaque finish and 107 is a deep burgundy with a velvety matte finish. Both have a great formula but 107 is the most longlasting one.

Labios: No soy de usar labiales diariamente pero cuando lo hago tiene que ser de un tono oscuro. Durante el verano solamente use Burt's Bees Pink Blossom casi todos los días. No me gustan los tonos claros ni muy vibrantes y este lip balm tiene el monto exacto de color que necesito aparte de ser súper hidratante.

Mac Rebel y Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick #107 son mis labiales favoritos para otoño/invierno. Rebel es un tono ciruela con acabado opaco y 107 es un color vino oscuro con acabado matte. Los dos tienen una muy buena fórmula pero 107 dura años.

Face: I cheated a bit here, The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer was purchased on 2012 but I didn't really get to use it until this year. This highlighter is shimmery without having any gross glitters, great for the tear duct area, great to be used alone as an eyeshadow and it comes with a huge mirror. It creates that healthy glow we all love. 

Talking about concealers I found that Inglot Cream Concealer in Peach is the best one to cover any blue/purple dark circles, it has a medium to full coverage and a luminous finish. I've been also loving the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer #medium a lot, it has a liquid thick formula that contains salycilic acid that covered my blemishes and acne scars so well. Very recommended for acne sufferers.

Revlon Colorstay for Combination to Oily Skin in Fresh Beige is one of my favorite foundations. Well, it was my favorite until I got Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Bamboo Beige! Both foundations are oil-free with a medium to full coverage, Revlon Colorstay has a semi-matte finish and lasts ages while Silk Creme has a luminous finish that doesn't last that long but it's a lot easier to remove from the skin. I set these foundations with my favorite drugstore powder, Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in light. I love this powder because it's a great dupe for Mac Blot Pressed Powder but way cheaper, it's very soft, colorless and comes with a big mirror for touch ups.

Talking about primers, I only have one favorite this year, Benefit The Porefessional that does a good job at minimizing the sizes of the pores and lasts a long time. 

And I'm cheating again when talking about blushes, my favorite this year so far has been the Physicians Formula Happy Booster which is a mix between a hightlighter and a blush but unfortunately is broken and I haven't fixed it yet. It makes me happy, the color is gorgeous and it's probably the only pink blush that suits me. My second favorite blush is Illamasqua Excite, a bright peach matte color that I love to wear during summer time.

Rostro: Acá hice un poco de trampa, The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer fue comprado en el 2012 pero no llegué a usarlo como dios manda hasta este año. Es un iluminador que no contiene glitters, va genial en la zona de lagrima, hueso de la ceja y como sombra también. Dá ese efecto de brillo saludable que me encanta.

Hablando de correctores, Inglot Cream Concealer en Peach es el mejor para cubrir cualquier ojera violeta/azul, tiene una cobertura medium to full y un acabado luminoso. También me encanta Neutrogena que es liquido pero denso, de alta cobertura y contiene ácido salicílico que trata los granitos. Usé muchísimo este producto cuando mis granos eran violetas (!!) y lo volvería a comprar mil veces, recomendado para las chicas con acné!

 Revlon Colorstay para combination to oily skin es una de mis bases favoritas. De hecho, era mi favorita hasta que apareció Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation en Bamboo Beige. Las dos bases son espesas, oil-free y tienen una cobertura medium to full. Colorstay tiene acabado semi-matte mientras Silk Creme tiene acabado luminoso y no es tan duradera como la de Revlon. Fijo estas bases con mi polvo Maybelline Dream Matte Powder en light, es muy liviano y un dupe para MAC Blot Pressed Powder, aunque diga que el tono es light yo lo encuentro traslúcido y viene con un espejo grande para retoques.

Hablando de primers sólo tengo un favorito este año, Benefit the Porefessional que hace un muy buen trabajo minimizando la apariencia de los poros, especialmente en verano... y dura muchísimo tiempo.

Y hablando de rubores de nuevo hago trampa, mi favorito no está en la foto porque se me rompió :( Es el Physicians Formula Happy Booster, el de los corazoncitos que todas conocen. Amo el packaging, amo que venga con una brocha suavecita y espejo y que deje un brillo rosa muy saludable en las mejillas. Mi segundo favorito este año es Illamasqua Powder Blush #Excite, un naranja coral matte altamente pigmentado como veran en las fotos, se necesita muy poco para dar color y lo más probable es que termines con la cara como un payaso la primera vez que lo usás. Muy lindo para el verano.

Abrí este blog ni bien empecé a estudiar maquillaje, básicamente para ver review de productos y conocer cosas nuevas.. nunca pensé que me gustaría tanto bloggear y que conocería a tanta gente copada de diferentes partes del mundo. Es una manera ideal de conocer personas con tus mismos intereses y compartir lo que más nos gusta... beauty things :)

Make up and Skincare Wishlist 2013

Since all of us are beauty junkies and we are probably thinking about getting more products every day, I believe it's good to make a list of those things we REALLY want instead of buy anything we see. 

I love trying new make up but if I'm going to buy high-end products, I prefer to read some reviews first.. otherwise my pocket will cry several days!

I thought it was about time to make a Beauty Wishlist for 2013 of those products I deeply wish to have. I even encourage all of you to do one so we all can share what we have on mind :)

I'm travelling to the US for the first time next week and I'll be probably purchasing these things. Please let me know if you own them! 

Ya que a todas nos gusta el make-up y probablemente estemos pensando en ello gran parte del día pense en hacer una wishlist para enfocarme bien en los productos que realmente quiero en vez de comprar cosas a lo loco. De hecho las tagueo a todas para que hagan este post así vemos cuales son los productos que tenemos todas en mente! 
En una semana me estoy yendo a USA y espero poder comprarme varias de estas cosas ya que como todas sabrán, allá está todo mas barato!
Si ya tienen alguno de estos productos, cuentenme como les sirvieron :)

Nars velvet matte lip pencil in cruella ($25) looks like the kind of lipstick that makes your teeth look really white and can make any outfit look sofisticated. I'd love this product for special ocations.

I'm always looking for good primers for oily skin, I don't really care about hiding my pores that much but I saw that Givenchy Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer ($33) is an excellent option and so far I've seen only good reviews about it. I was also looking for an alternative to my Mac Blot Powder and I found that Shiseido Translucent Pressed Powder ($32) is a great powder that doesn't leave any color in the skin.

Who doesn't want this Mac Pro Conceal and Correct Palette ($40)? Seriously, it's crazy!

I was also looking for good eyeshadow bases until I saw the review Coco did on her blog about this Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow stick in blackmail ($4.49) and I was stunned! Rimmel keeps getting better all the time.

Who doesn't want the new Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Pallete ($27)? I'm a very neutral girl and I'd love to own this palette soon as I don't have any UD products yet. Same goes for Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in tipsy ($26), such a pretty coral!

I've heard about Perricone MD a while ago as it is a very expensive brand that makes only awesome products, I believe this kit Intensive Pore Minimizer and Intensive Pore ($98) treatment could suit me well though is quite pricey. Same applies to Murad Oil-Control Mattifier spf 15 ($40), not the cheapest brand ever but I've heard it works and I really need some moisture.

One thing I'm excited to try is Neutrogena Microdermoabrasion System ($20), is for all those who does not dare to buy a Clarisonic cause we affraid to spend $150 for something we don't know if it works! Gladly I've seen reviews of this product in youtube and all were positive! Bargain alert?

I'm exciting about trying Origins, well I'm excited about trying all these products as they are not sold in Argentina! I've seen they have good anti-blemish products so I want to try the Super Spot Acne Treatment Gel ($14.50)  and Zero Oil Moisture Lotion (26.50).

Last but not least are these two products Freeman Feeling Beautiful Mint & Lemon Facial Clay Mask ($3.99) which I read that it's good at soothing skin and controling oils and Lush Lip Scrub in Bubblegum ($9.95), this product was raved pretty much everywhere and when I was in Sweden I didn't even pay attention to this shop so now I'll put an eye on it :)

Korres Sunflower and Evening Primrose Eyeshadows

 Not so long ago there was a 70% off on Korres products at StrawberryNET and since Christmas time was coming soon I thought I could buy some gifts for my sisters.
I've always been interested on Korres products even thought their Wild Rose Concealer was a bit disappointing for me I think we should always give brands a second chance, specially when you read such good reviews about them :)

No hace tanto tiempo atrás hubo una oferta del 70% off en productos de Korres en StrawberryNET y ya que navidad se aproximaba pensé en que serían buenos regalos para mis hermanas.
Siempre quise probar más productos de esta marca y aunque el corrector de la línea Wild Rose me decepcionó creo que siempre hay que dar una segunda oportunidad.

I've got to say that I'm super glad I gave it a second chance, this stuff is amazing!
I bought a little bag that contained four single eyeshadows, one pencil eyeliner, one lipgloss and one mascara. With the 70% off I paid a total of $11 USD! Such a bargain!
The lipgloss was more like a lip tint, the mascara wasn't the best deal ever and the pencil eyeliner is just great but I won't review them right now, so... let's the the eyeshadows pigmentation!

Debo decir que estoy super feliz de haberlas comprado, son maravillosas!
Compre un pack que venian cuatro sombras individuales, una mascara, un lipgloss y un delineador de ojos en lápiz. Todo por 54 pesitos, que me dicen?

All these four eyeshadows are and shimmery, not glittery and they have a really good pigmentation. I love the color selection, they are wearable during day and night time and a big big plus, these eyeshadows are not powdery at all, they sink into the skin pretty well and are not hard to blend.

Todas estas cuatro sombras son brillosas, no tienen efecto glitter y tienen muy buena pigmentación. Amo la selección de colores ya que se pueden usar de día y de noche. Otro dato importante, no son polvorosas y se fijan bien en los párpados sin ser díficil de esfumar.

Overall I'm pretty amazed with these beauties, I'm not really single eye shadows I do prefer palettes but these have won my heart, I'll be repurchasing them because SADLY they now belong to my sister :)
Have you tried Korres eyeshadows? Can you believe they were only $11 including a lip gloss, mascara and eyeliner!? Tell me your best bargain!

They're freakin' real!

Hi dolls! Apologies for not uploading anything these last days. I finally got a job and I am so tired I didn't have the strenght to take pictures and do blogposts but it's Sunday and I have no excuse!

Now let's talk about this beauty... After seeing this product reviewed in thousands of blogs I convinced myself I didn't needed it because 1) I had some back up mascaras and 2)Benefit is a brand that is not easy to get here. So well.. I lived a couple of months like that until I opened one of my back up mascaras three weeks ago, a Maybelline Colosal and it had NO product inside, nothing at all... I could see the bottom of it! I bought it in another country so no way to complain... I had to find another mascara.

Hola lindas! Perdón por no subir nada durante estos días, conseguí un trabajo y estoy tan cansada que se me hace imposible sacar fotos y preparar posts, sólo quiero dormir... pero hoy es domingo y no hay excusa!

Ahora hablemos de esta belleza... después de haber visto esta máscara en miles de blogs me convencí de que no la necesitaba porque 1) tenía mascaras sin abrir 2) Benefit es una marca complicada de conseguir acá. Así que viví así unos meses hasta que tuve que abrir una de mis máscaras de reserva para darme cuenta que no tenía nada! no había nada adentro, podía ver el fondo amarillo de mi Maybelline Colosal, así que bueno... a buscar una máscara de pestañas.

Hey girls, today I wanted to do a review about this two eyeliners that I've been using for the past months.
I am a big fan of gel eyeliners but if I'm doing my makeup at someone's else house, I won't bring a brush with me so I will have to go for a liquid eyeliner.
I've always loved Revlon cosmetics so I decided to go for Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen, for an ultra quick application and I also got Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner because my mother loves liquid eyeliners and she was needing one.

Hola chicas, hoy quería hacer un review de estos dos delineadores de ojos que vengo usando los últimos meses.
Soy una gran fan de los delineadores en gel pero si me maquillo en algun otro lugar que no sea mi casa, no voy a llevar mi pincel delinador así que tengo que optar por un delineador líquido.
Dado que me gustan muchísimo la marca Revlon decidí comprarme dos delinadores, el Liquid Eye Pen, para una aplicación ultra rápida y el Liquid Liner ya que mi mamá necesitaba un delineador y ama los líquidos.

Swatches don't lie, the Liquid Liner has a better pigmentation that the Liquid Eye Pen, while the Liquid Eye Pen is way easier to apply than the Liquid Liner.

Las imágenes no mienten, el Liquid Liner tiene una mejor pigmentación que el Liquid Eye Pen, mientras que el Liquid Eye Pen es mucho más facil de aplicar que el Liquid Liner.

Best of 2012 | TAG

Tomorrow is the last day of 2012 and while I think of the amazing things that happened this year, I cannot avoid thinking of my beauty products. For most people that may sound a bit superficial but I know that you, my beauty blogger fellas will understand it.

This year I finally got rid of my acne after suffering it for 5 years, that couldn't have happened without being extra careful with the products I buy.

For that reason I think this year has been quite an eye-opener, many amazing products have been released that worth the hype and others that don't. Many were released years ago and I got them this year.

As you will see, I don't have a favorite of each category, just a bunch of products I found this year that I can't live without.

Having said enough, these are my 2012 favorites.

Mañana es el último día de este maravilloso 2012 y mientras pienso en las cosas geniales que pasaron este año no puedo evitar pensar en mis beauty products. Para la mayoría de las personas esto puede sonar muy superficial pero para ustedes, mis amigas bloggeras, puede que no sea asi.

Finalmente este año me deshice de mi acné que me acompaño unos 5 largos años. Esto no pudo haber pasado si no hubiese sido extra meticulosa a la hora de comprar productos de belleza.

Por esa razón creo que este año me abrió bastante los ojos, muchos productos wow salieron este año, muchos realmente son lo que dicen ser y muchos otros no.

No puedo dejar pasar el tema de las beauty boxes y la decepción que me llevo de absolutamente todas. Estoy segura de que ellos entendieron que es lo que queríamos, probar cosas nuevas, tener acceso a productos que desde Argentina se nos complica conseguir, sean en mini tallas o muestras gratis, la idea de una beauty box es una vez al mes sentirse mimada. El mensaje no era dificil de entender. Creo que no les importó en lo más absoluto, es más facil sacarle el dinero a personas honestas y en compensación, dar alcohol en gel vencido, total? La plata ya la gastaste.

En fin chicas, estos fueron mis favoritos de 2012.

FOTD | Purple Obsession

Not so long ago my mother wanted some purple eyeshadow to wear in special nights. Since we were at the mall I suggested going to MAC. Sadly, this time they didn't have that shade so we ended up asking at L'oreal.
The girl who worked here showed us these amazing single eyeshadows, all looked so beautiful, elegant and pigmented, we found a gorgeous purple at only only $8!
I didn't have the pleasure to try it on until today, and what a lovely surprise I got! It's really exciting to find drugstore products that you would usually get from high-end brands, like single eyeshadows, cream eyeshadows or cream blushers.

No hace mucho tiempo atrás, mi madre quería comprar una sombra púrpura para usar en noches especiales y dado que estabamos en un shopping, sugerí ir a MAC. Lamentablemente, el color que queríamos estaba fuera de stock así que terminamos preguntando en el stand de L'oreal.
La chica que trabaja ahí nos mostró estas hermosas sombras individuales, super pigmentadas y elegantes. Encontramos un púrpura divino por 80 pesos (comparado con los 150 de MAC)...
No tuve el placer de probarla hasta hoy, y que buena sorpresa me lleve! La verdad que me pone muy feliz encontrar productos que generalmente compraría de marcas más caras porque en un Farmacity o Pigmento simplemente no encontría sombras individuales de alta calidad y duración, o sombras en crema.

I know it looks like a mess but this is the way I store the makeup that I use every single day: three different concealers, one mascara, eyelash curler and tweezers, two powders, one highlighter, one countouring bronzer, eyelids primer, two lipstick, one lipgloss, one eyeshadow palette, two foundations, cotton pads,  makeup remover and some brushes. Everything fits in a plastic tool box that I bought for some ridiculous low price :)

Se que parece un quilombo pero así es como ordeno el makeup que uso diariamente: 3 correctores, 1 mascara, arqueador de pestañas y pinzita, dos polvos, un iluminador, un bronzer, primer de ojos, dos labiales, un gloss, una paleta de sombras, dos bases, algodon, makeup remover y algunas brochas. Todo entra en una caja de herramientas de plastico que compré en Colombraro :)
