THE FULL COVERAGE CONCEALERS BATTLE

Concealers are definitely my favorite make up item. No matter what happens I don't go anywhere without
having my dark circles and hyperpigmentation covered. I really don't mind leaving home without eye or lip make up but my skin has to look as best as possible. Insecurity, low self-esteem? Probably. Having suffered of acne for many years made me feel ashamed of my naked skin... and still does. For this reason I have always looked for full coverage concealers and unfortunately, I tried too many that claimed to cover blemishes and hyperpigmentation and failed.
Now that I'm a bit older and that I've experienced many concealers, I can say I've found those that work the best on my skin, that give my skin the most flawless finish and most important; they do not break me out.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage SC-3 ($32.00): A heavy creamy concealer that can be very hard to blend if you do not warm it up on your fingers first. Best suitable on oily skin types as it is oil free, sets on the skin fast and won't move during the day. It can definitely cause dry patches so I'd stay away from it if I had dry skin. It comes with two shades that are very different so I only use half product which I think it's bit of a waste. One last thing, I never use this as a under eye concealer as it is very heavy for that area and can look cakey.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer NW20 ($18.00): Another heavy creamy concealer that feels very similar to the Laura Mercier one but this one feels a bit oilier and it's definitely easier to work with. This is the second pot I've bought and it's lasting more than a year so far. Compared to the Laura Mercier one, the Studio Finish Concealer is less heavy and still very pigmented. As it's not oil-free I only use it on my eye area and it really helps to neutralize dark circles.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NC 30 ($19.00): My all time favorite. It has a liquid formula and you need the tiniest bit to cover big areas. The pigmentation is insane, it covers everything and sets very fast. It comes with a pump that can be tricky and give you too much product. I use this to cover my hyperpigmentation and any kind of breakouts. It's oil-free and suitable for all skin types. I also use it on my eye area and it works beautifully.

ELF Maximum Concealer Nude (NW 25.. I believe) ($3.00): Last but not least, this is my latest concealer purchase and I'm loving it. It has a creamy and dense texture that feels like a very light-weight foundation. This concealer is the easiest one to blend and the coverage is really amazing for the price you're paying. As it is a bit lighter than my skin tone I mostly use it on my eyes and it does an amazing job. It works very well covering hyperpigmentation and doesnt not feel heavy on the skin. Another plus? It's oil-free!

I've also been eyeing the Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer but I have just started my first spending ban :( So, what is your favorite concealer?

Flo x

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NC 30: Mi favorito.

ELF Maximum Concealer Nude (NW 25.. Otro punto a favor?

  3. I use an orange concealer by MUD to cover my dark circles and the green one for my red cheeks. Then, I take the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and put it over the top. :D

  5. Concealer is also one of my favorites - I have terrible terrible dark circles, no matter how much sleep I get. Currently I'm using the the creme concealer from Motives and two age rewind concealers from Maybelline - same product, just different shades. The ELF concealer seems interesting to try out, especially for the price. I've been wanting to try NARS' creamy concealer, but I think I'm putting myself on a spending ban as well.

Wow. I just made myself seem like a concealer addict, haha.

My favorite concealer for only very bad dark circle is the Inglot creamy concealer in the shade peach.. i didn't include it here because its not full coverage but it neutralizes dark circles like nothing else!

  7. What great picks! I love both the MAC ones....studio fix to groom under my brows and pro long wear for the rest of the face. I am curious about the Elf but I have had allergic reactions to some of their products before. Great reviews :-)

  13. I hear lots of rave reviews about the MAC pro long-wear concealer and I did not know ELF came out with this awesome concealer. The NYX HD concealer and the Hard Candy concealer are my current favorites. I use them sparingly for the occasional break out or scar.

  17. Mac studio finish it’s amazing I broke my little bottle a few months ago and I only use it a few times! But I used to use for dark circles as well, I don’t really use to much concealer in my face as it breaks me out every time :(

  18. Coincido, Flo!

I'm currently using the Healthy Mix concealer and it works just fine, but if I need something heavier I'll go for the MAC one - lovin it :)!

    Happy weekend bella!!!
