MAC Cranberry and life update

 Sometimes it's not possible to be a good blogger. I think of blogging all the time but I just can't seem to sit down and write a bit. I've been working for three weeks non stop, kind of sure I didn't have a single day off but I can't complain cause things are going very well.

I recently started to work in a theatre on the weekends as part of the make up artists staff for a new play (and the premiere is tonight!). Everything is so new and fresh, we are not sure how it's gonna turn out but I really like it, the people is so nice that I don't even mind waking up at 8 am on Sundays and not getting paid for it. 

I've also just got a new job that starts on October and I'm quite excited about it, sadly it's not beauty related but I get to speak English all day and the pay is good. It's just for a few months but suits me perfect as I will soon move to Sweden and need to save lots of money.

And besides all that, I've been working on my own doing peoples make up a lot lately, usually after my main job... meaning I get home after 21hs. 

I'm very very tired but I feel that my life is starting to make sense... I know that can sound a bit dramatic but this year wasn't my year and things are getting better now. Maybe nobody cares of what I'm writing now and I should go straight to the review but well, I wanted to explain a bit why I haven't been blogging often :)

Working in the theathre is awesome and we get to play with a lot of colors and textures. I pretty much wear neutral eyeshadows all the time so I felt like doing something different now that I'm inspired.

I took my mom's MAC Cranberry eyeshadow the other day 'cause I thought I could needed it for a work.

MAC Cranberry is a dark berry red with a frost finish, very pigmented and absolutely perfect for fall/winter time. There are so many ways to use it but I opted to do a smokey eye with some black eyeshadow. I usually blend everything when I get close to the brow bone but this time I didn't, I wanted a very dramatic finish and so I also added some dark plum lipstick.

A veces se complica ser una buena blogger. Pienso bastante en ellos pero simplemente no puedo sentarme a escribir, vengo trabajando tres semanas seguidas sin día de descanso pero no me quejo porque las cosas andan bien.
Recientemente empecé a trabajar en el teatro El Colonial en una obra que empieza bien desde abajo y está hecha con mucho amor y dedicación: La Venganza del Conde de Montecristo (estrena hoy a la noche!!). Soy parte del staff de maquilladoras y me estoy diviertiendo demasiado, la paso tan bien que no me importa mucho levantarme a las 8 am los domingos y que no me paguen.
También conseguí un nuevo trabajo fulltime en una empresa que aunque no tenga nada que ver con el rubro belleza, me da la posibilidad de hablar inglés todo el día y poder ahorrar para el viaje. Últimamente venía trabajando en mi laburo actual que no me gusta mucho y quería cambiar pero ser maquilladora freelance no es lo más estable del mundo. Por suerte éste nuevo trabajo es sólo por un par de meses y me viene bien para tener algo fijo antes de irme a Suecia.

Y bueno, esto de estar tanto en contacto con el makeup y trabajar en el teatro te abren la cabeza un poquito, jugamos mucho con los colores y texturas y vengo bastante inspirada. 
Generalmente soy de usar colores neutros en los ojos y si bien quiero probar colores nuevos no me voy a ir directamente al amarillo... probamos con MAC Cranberry?
MAC Cranberry es una sombra roja oscura/bordó con un acabado satinado, la pigmentación es increíble y es un color hermoso para invierno (que lamentablemente ya está terminando). Hay muchas maneras de usarla pero opté por hacer un smokey eye con negro sin difuminar tanto los bordes, dando un efecto bastante dramático al combinarlo con labios oscuros.

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to review these lippies everyone is talking about, the new Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer.

As I don't live in the UK or the US it get's a little hard to find these stuff so I was just wishing they would someday arrive to Buenos Aires. 

I first saw them at Fleur de Force's youtube channel and I fell in love with the vibrand red one! So some weeks ago, a beauty blogger called Vicky from Northern Blush blog was doing a giveaway of these two lippies and I won! I was pretty much jumping in my chair at work, I never win anything!

The moment I got the package I got shocked, this stuff is amazing, see them by yourself :)

3 Lipsticks 3 Looks | Wet N Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Cover

 Hello beauties! Today I wanted to start the week with a review of three lippies I got a while ago, Wet N Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Cover in three very different shades: Red Velvet, Pinkerbell and Pink Suga.
As most of you know, Wet N Wild is a quite affordable brand with many amazing products and these lipsticks are not the exception! They are very creamy with a semi-matte finish and they last for many, many hours. After taking these pictures I took a shower and oh god, was impossible to remove the swatches from my arms!

Hola lindas! Hoy quería empezar la semana con un reivew de 3 labiales que compre hace rato, los Wet N Wild Mega Last Matte Lip Cover en tres muy diferentes tonos: Red Velvet, Pinkerbell y Pink Suga.
Como mucha sabrán, esta marca es muy económica y hace productos excelentes, estos lipsticks no son la excepción! Son muy cremosos con un acabado semi-matten y duran por muchas horas... Después de tomar estas fotos me duché y fue dificil sacar los swatches de mi brazo!

Messy & Elegant Look

Red Velvet is a very elegant red with blue undertones, it makes my teeth look so white!

For this lipstick I chose what I call an 'elegant but comfy look', I did a messy hair bun with a hair donut. In my face I'm wearing liquid eyeliner, some gold eyeshadow, lots of mascara and some pink blush.

Messy & Elegante. Red Velvet es un rojo azulado muy elegante, hace ver los dientes muy blancos! Para este labial elegí lo que llamo un look cómodo pero elegante. Me hice un rodete desprolijo con una hair donut. En mi rostro me hice un delineado negro con un poco de sombra dorada, mucha mascara de pestañas y un poco de rubor rosa.

 

Natural Pink Look

Pinkerbell is a beautiful baby pink that looks lovely on light skin tones, on darker skin tones it can look a bit too much (I wore this lipstick once that I was tanned and it looked terrible).

This time I chose a pretty natural look, just an extremely messy pony tail, some eyebrow filing, the tiniest amount of rosegold eyeshadow, a little bit of mascara and natural pink blush.

Natural Pink Look. Pinkerbell es un rosa bebé divino que se ve muy bien en pieles claras, en pieles oscuras puede contrastar demasiado (lo usé cuando estaba bronceada y quedó fatal). Esta vez opté por un look natural, una cola de pelo muy desprolija y batida, cejas fuertes, mínima cantidad de sombra rosegold, algo de máscara y un blush rosa.

Black Smokey

Pink Suga is a nude shade with orange undertones, looks almost like a concealer. I believe it's a shade not everyone would dare to wear since it can look like a death nude.

This lipstick will contrast with absolutely any look I could have so I picked a really strong one, a black smokey eye with bronzy cheeks and lots of highlighter. My hair is extremely straight but very thick so I didn't do anything with it.

Black Smokey. Pink Suga es un nude con tonos naranjas, casi se ven como un corrector. Creo que es un tono que no todas se atreverían a usar dado que puede parecer medio nude-muerto.

Este lipstick va a contrastar con cualquier look así que elegí uno bien fuerte, un smokey eye negro con rubor color bronce.

What do you think of these lippies? I've seen them in some blogs already and I've read quite good reviews about them. I have to say I really love them, specially Red Velvet since it's such a glamorous shade. In case you wonder, these lipsticks are non drying and the price is around $2-3 USD each.

FOTD | L'oreal Paris Accord Parfait Blush #Rose Bonne Mine

 Hi there! Today I'm going to do a quick review about this blush and a little FOTD (Face of the day).
As many of you, I'm crazy about blushes and even though they all look similar I can't stop trying new ones and getting new ones... I don't really care if they are cheap or expensive. I wish I had them all!
I got this pretty blush two weeks ago and since then I can't stop wearing it. I managed to take a decent picture of it (second pic) so you guys could see how it exactly looks like: A bright pinky coral with shimmer.

Hey! Hoy quería hacer un review rápido de este rubor y un pequeño FOTD (Rostro del día).
Como muchas de ustedes, estoy loca por los rubores y aunque todos luzcan similares no puedo parar de probar nuevas marcas, colores, etc. Realmente no me importa si son caros o baratos, quisiera tener todos!
Recibí este rubor hace dos semanas y desde ese entonces no paro de usarlo. Logré sacar una foto que le hace justicia (segunda foto) así pueden ver como exactamente es: Un rosa coral brillante.

 Even though I love blushes I do not wear too much of them, I don't want it to be noticeable, just like if it was my natural cheek color but better. So when I saw this blush for the first time I thought it may be too bright/shimmery on my face, I have blemishes and I don't want them to stand out.
The truth is that it is very pigmented and shimmery so I use a tiny tiny amount of it to add some color onto my cheeks and I use a bit more on my cheekbones to add some shimmer. Therefore if I wear this blush I don't need a highlighter.

Aunque ame los rubores no uso mucho producto, no quiero que se note... quiero que parezca que es el color de mis mejillas pero mejor. Así que cuando vi este rubor por primera vez pensé que sería demasiado brilloso para mi piel, tengo granitos y manchas y no las quiero resaltar.
La verdad es que es un rubor con mucha pigmentación y shimmer así que uso muy poquito en las mejillas y en los pómulos uso otro poquito más para darle más volumen. Por lo tanto si uso este rubor, no uso iluminador.

 Overall I really like this blush, it's a product that I'm happy to see and wear, feels like it makes me look more alive! The packaging is beautiful and practical, it contains a little mirror behind the blush and a little brush which is surprisingly softer than the brush that comes inside my Chanel blush (!!!). I like that you can get a very decent good looking product for a very decent price, isn't that what we all like?

Realmente me gustó este rubor, es un producto que me pone feliz ver y usar, cuando lo uso parezco más viva y menos ojerosa! El packaging es una de las cosas que me encanta, lindo y prático. Contiene un espejito detrás del rubor y una mini brocha que sorprendentemente es mucho mas suave que la de mi rubor Chanel (!!!). Me gusta que se puedan comprar productos lindos y decentes por un precio también muy decente, eso no es lo que queremos todos?

Ya conocían este rubor? Yo antes de tenerlo la verdad que no!

FOTD | Purple Obsession

Not so long ago my mother wanted some purple eyeshadow to wear in special nights. Since we were at the mall I suggested going to MAC. Sadly, this time they didn't have that shade so we ended up asking at L'oreal.
The girl who worked here showed us these amazing single eyeshadows, all looked so beautiful, elegant and pigmented, we found a gorgeous purple at only only $8!
I didn't have the pleasure to try it on until today, and what a lovely surprise I got! It's really exciting to find drugstore products that you would usually get from high-end brands, like single eyeshadows, cream eyeshadows or cream blushers.

No hace mucho tiempo atrás, mi madre quería comprar una sombra púrpura para usar en noches especiales y dado que estabamos en un shopping, sugerí ir a MAC. Lamentablemente, el color que queríamos estaba fuera de stock así que terminamos preguntando en el stand de L'oreal.
La chica que trabaja ahí nos mostró estas hermosas sombras individuales, super pigmentadas y elegantes. Encontramos un púrpura divino por 80 pesos (comparado con los 150 de MAC)...
No tuve el placer de probarla hasta hoy, y que buena sorpresa me lleve! La verdad que me pone muy feliz encontrar productos que generalmente compraría de marcas más caras porque en un Farmacity o Pigmento simplemente no encontría sombras individuales de alta calidad y duración, o sombras en crema.

I know it looks like a mess but this is the way I store the makeup that I use every single day: three different concealers, one mascara, eyelash curler and tweezers, two powders, one highlighter, one countouring bronzer, eyelids primer, two lipstick, one lipgloss, one eyeshadow palette, two foundations, cotton pads,  makeup remover and some brushes. Everything fits in a plastic tool box that I bought for some ridiculous low price :)

Se que parece un quilombo pero así es como ordeno el makeup que uso diariamente: 3 correctores, 1 mascara, arqueador de pestañas y pinzita, dos polvos, un iluminador, un bronzer, primer de ojos, dos labiales, un gloss, una paleta de sombras, dos bases, algodon, makeup remover y algunas brochas. Todo entra en una caja de herramientas de plastico que compré en Colombraro :)

Since I have a lot of free time lately I'm able to spend more time doing my make up so I thought: Should I do my first Face Of The Day now that my acne is almost all gone? Yes!

Also, I wanted to say that I'm impressed with the new hair mask I'm using. I got it in an Argentinian beautybox called Fancybox together with its styling cream. The hair mask I'm talking about its BKD Luxury & Co - Caviar Liss & Shine Hair Mask for Straight Hair (200ml). The reason why I'm impressed it's because today it's been 32°C here and usually at this time of the year my hair is completely out of control with lots of frizz. But this didn't happen today, I got off from the shower, blowdried my hair a bit and tada, bye frizz, hello shine! I will be repurchasing this :)

Aparte de mi FOTD quería aprovechar la entrada para destacar lo impresionada que estoy con la máscara capilar que estoy usando hace un tiempo ya. Como muchas sabrán, hoy hicieron unos 32°C y ya con un rayito de sol me vuelvo el rey león con frizz. Pero hoy no pasó, de hecho me sequé un poco el pelo con el secador (no aguantaba el calor) y el pelo me quedo así! Chau frizz, hola brillo.. viajé en bondi, caminé, morí de calor pero el pelo estuvo intacto. El producto es BKD Luxury & Co - Caviar Liss & Shine Hair Mask Straight Hair (200ml), vino en la Fancybox de octubre y desde que lo tengo en mis manos lo uso 1 vez por semana y los resultados son siempre excelentes! Obviamente lo voy a volver a comprar :)

Weekend on sale

Hola! Hace como 10 días que no escribía, extrañaba mucho el blog y mi ausencia no es por vacaciones si no porque trabajo todo el día y odio sacar fotos de noche así que tengo que esperar hasta el finde para tomar algunas fotos.
Estos dos últimos findes estuve saliendo por la ciudad, comiendo cosas dulces con amigas y encontrando algunas ofertas muy copadas! No soy de las personas que se dejan llevar por las liquidaciones de temporada pero esta vez no pude evitarlo. Necesitaba un par de botas 'sanas' para el invierno sueco ya que quizás vuelvo a Suecia el año que viene y como allá hace frío casi todo el año seguramente voy a estar usando botas y las que me compré para nuestro invierno ya se encuentran destrozadas.
Ya tenía este par de botitas de gamuza de Clona en vista pero como me habia comprado otras de cuero de la misma marca, no les dí mucha atención. Ni bien vi que bajaron a $199 ARS no lo dudé y saqué el cash! Al tener algo de plataforma son muy comodas para caminar, aparte no tienen cierre, es como ponerse una pantufla linda gigante jaja y el punto a favor? Me vino con tres muestras gratis de Shampoo + Acondicionador de Tres Emme!
El otro par de chatitas/mocasines/loafers (no sé bien que son) me lo compre en Lucerna, hacían 2x1 el sábado y únicamente se pagaba el par mas caro que fue el de mi madre que se compro unos tacos de 15 cms masomenos, una loca! También todo a buen precio pero sin muestras gratis jaja.
Finalmente pasé por el Alto Palermo decidida a comprarme un lipstick de MAC y primero me encontré con el stand de Maybelline y L'oreal y con tanto color me resultó imposible no comprar un esmalte de Maybelline. Amo la calidad y pigmentación de esta línea y también el precio... $11 ARS por algo que sé que lo voy a usar durante mucho tiempo vale la pena. Vale además aclarar que en ese stand del Alto Palermo se consiguen mucho más colores de esa marca que en Pigmento o Farmacity, así que a tener en cuenta :)

Hi! It's been a while since I last wrote, I've been working too much and I really don't like taking pictures in the night so I had to wait until the weekend to take them.
These last two weekends I've been going out with friends, had some delicious food and did some shopping. Winter is almost over here and all stores are on sale, and even thought I don't usually shop on sale season (I never find anything I like) I thought I could take a look and see if there was something interesting.
Found this leather platform boots at a very reasonable price (u$s 42) and even though winter here is almost over I thought I could really use them in Sweden since it's cold almost all year there and my current winter boots are kind of destroyed. Plus, it came with 3 free samples of Tres Emme Shampoo + Conditioner. Woho!
I also found these loafers with some details in gold and they are so comfy! too bad they didn't come with any free samples though, lol.
After that I went to a MAC store to buy a lipstick buy there was this Maybelline/L'oreal stand in the mall so I stopped and looked for a nail polish, Maybelline Colorama are so cheap I couldn't resist buying one, they are like u$s 2 each.

Muchas dirán: woww! Es un color un poco llamativo... Sí  jaja lo es, pero ya hace tiempo estaba buscando un tono de lapiz labial entre lila y rosa claro. Para ser más exacta estaba buscando el tono de lipstick que usa Sofía de Graduados (click en el nombre para ver la foto) que me encanta! obviamente ella usa mucho menos y yo le dí unas dos pasadas para que quede super pigmentado. Mi novio dice que es un poco demasiado para usarlo todos los días pero yo pienso que no, no me identifico usando un color rojo pero estos colores pasteles si.. no sé si todos los días y tan pigmentado pero lo uso frecuentemente.
Este MAC lipstick - Snob costó $155 ars y estoy super conforme, la pigmentación es excelente, tomás 80 vasos y el labial sigue intacto, no es cruel con los labios secos, de hecho lo encuentro muy hidratante así que seguramente siga comprando más de esta marca.

I know it looks like a 'HELLO I'M HERE'-lipstick but I'm actually loving it :) I've been looking for a light purple-light pink shade for a while and this is the one. My boyfriend says it's a bit too much for an everyday use but for me is okay. I applied two layers of lipstick so the color looks very pigmented and vibrant but with one it's just okay and it is still very creamy and moisturizing. I'm in love with this shade, love how it works on both pale and tan skin and the price is not bad :)

LOVING BOBBI BROWN

Hola hermosas! En este post les quería contar de mi experiencia en Bobbi Brown.
Como algunas sabrán, en Bobbi Brown de Galerías Pacífico se pueden tomar diferentes lecciones de make up, desde Automaquillaje hasta Make up para Novias, duran entre 5 y 45 minutos. Algunas clases son gratuitas y en otras se abona comprando 1 o más productos.
Así que hace casi dos semanas llamé y tomé una clase de Smoky Eyes y estuvo espectacular! Los procuctos de Bobbi Brown son de altísima calidad, las brochas son super suaves y el local es un paraíso. A diferencia que otras marcas, Bobbi sorprende con la cantidad de productos que tiene sólamente para el cuidado de la piel.
No está demás destacar la amabilidad y excelente atención del staff, todas sabemos el trato que brindan algunas vendedoras de otras marcas (!) Así que están todas enteradas, si tienen 20 minutos libres, llamen y dense un gusto!

As some of you might know you can take lessons at Bobbi Brown, they last from 5 to 45 minutes. Some of those lessons are free and in some others you have to pay buying one or more than one product (at least here in Argentina).
So basically, about two weeks ago I called and had my Smoky Eyes lesson, and it was awesome. Bobbi Brown products are high quality, the brushes are extra soft and all the stores are a paradise. I was surprised to see the crazy amount of skin care products that Bobbi sells.
Also, I want to point out the kindness and attention of Bobbi Brown's staff!

Y para terminar el día de la mejor manera mi novio aprovechó que cumplimos un año juntos y me compro el libro Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual :D
Todavía estoy en shock, es mi primer libro de maquillaje y es el más completo que hizo Bobbi.
Abarca TODO, y una gran gran parte del libro es sobre el cuidado de la piel (supongo que por eso crearon tantos productos pre-make up).
Les super recomiendo comprarselo, definitivamente vale cada centavo, es admirable el trabajo de Bobbi, sus técnicas tan minimalistas que dejan grandes resultados, dios como la amo!!

I couldn't finish my day in a better way, since we had our first year together my boyfriend bought me the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual :D
I'm still on shock, it's my first makeup book and it's Bobbi's most complete one. It has EVERYTHING you need to know, and a big part of the book is about skin care (I guess that's why Bobbi pays so much attention to skin care products!).
I do recommend this book, Bobbi's work is admirable. I love her techniques... OMG I love her everyday a little more :)
