Oily Skin? Acne? Help is here // Neutrogena, La Roche-Posay, Clinique & L'oreal

Oily skin and acne are probably the worst enemies for girls that love wearing makeup. Acne is not only annoying and sometimes painful but also doesn't help with self-esteem.
Not so long time ago I decided to finish with this problem and I started a treatment. Now, after 6 months of it the results are amazing and I have a new face. I did took pills (not really badass ones) but in the way to get a healthy skin I used some products that truly helped and the best thing of it is that anyone can have them. These are my favorites :)

   Srub / Wash-Mask / Sunscreen / Moisturizers
Exfoliante / Cleanser - Mascara facial / Protector solar / Hidratantes
 Neutrogena

Rapid Clear Foaming Scrub: It looks like this if you buy if it in the US. "Instantly breaks down pore-clogging oil, while gentle exfoliating microbeads sweep away dead skin cells, and skin conditioning beads soothe skin to prevent over-drying." It actually does that, it's so great and gentle, contains salicylic acid. I use 2-3 times a week. My favorite!
---

This helps me to wake up, the moment this product touches my skin I feel awake, it's so refreshing! It's both a facial cleanser and a mask. Every morning I apply this onto my wet face and wash it and 2-3 times a week I leave it in my face for 15 mins and it dries up as a mask, unclogs pores and leaves the skin feeling soft.
La Roche-Posay

Anthelios AC - Fluide Extreme Mat / Matte extreme Fluid (Sunscreen)/ Fluido extremo mate (Protector solar)

This is one of the last products I bought. A couple of weeks ago I visited my dermatologist and told her I was about to do a trip and of course that I needed some sunscreen, since summer is coming here soon. Although I do need high protection, she said that it's best if I use a SPF 30 cause higher spfs are quite oily and we don't want that now that I'm fighting against oily skin.
Compared to other sunscreens I used, this looks smaller but it seems to last. You may think it's so liquid since it says 'fluid' everywhere but it's not, it's quite thick acually, not the easiest one to blend.
Last saturday I had a BBQ with friends so I thought that would be the best time to start using it so I did it. As you can see in the second picture it leaves that white-ghosty effect but I actually liked this, I corrected my skin tones! After applying the sunscreen in my face, I did my makeup and turns out it works great as a primer, leaving my face so matt! Best part? After being 7 hours laying in the sun I didn't need any powder touch-ups. I'm so happy with this sunscreen <3 Btw, it's Paraben-free and Fragance-free

This lotion is discontinued now, at least here in Argentina :( It was one of those things you don't think before buying but it was totally worth it! It cleans any makeup leftover and kept my face fresh and tight. Together with L'oreal Pure Zone step 3 (Moisturizing gel) work great, keeping my skin clean, hydrated and oil-free.

CLINIQUE
Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free

By January of this year my face was looking BAD. Winters in Argentina are cold and humid so my skin always looked bad, but I was in Sweden by then, I thought my skin would improve there since it's not a humid place. Stupid me.. my skin was even worse! I even remember peeling potatoes, cutting them and then applying them onto my skin so they took all the oiliness out, kinda worked but I still had a major breakout to deal with and nothing helped (and think about my boyfriend watching me talk with potatoes in my face). This was a long time before I even started to think about fighting acne with a dermatologist.
I did some research on products that could help me cause I knew that the moment I hit Argentina my skin would get even worse, it was summer there and just argh.. disgusting. So I found Clinique ads everywhere and some good reviews on youtube and well, I gave it a chance.
Bought this moisturizer in the freeshop and the day I arrived to Argentina I started using them. I applied a little amount all over my face (had many blemishes) and I went to bed. Let me tell you it was like 40°C the next morning and I woke up with something weird, there was no oil in my skin! at all! I looked myself in the mirror and all the blemishes were dry! I continued using this product until I started my acne treatment (april) so that's 2 moisturizers for 4 months. It does magic. It quickly stopped my breakouts and I never ever got them back. Maybe I got like one or two blemishes but this controlled everything, I even used it as a foundation primer. I love this product and I would recommend it to anybody who is having breakouts now. I don't use it anymore cause my skin is too sensitive now and this is too hard for it. Anyway I think that whether you take medication or not, this is the perfect first step to get a healthy skin.

Wow this was a lot for only one post! Which are the methods you use to fight oily skin or acne? Let me tell you that potatoes don't help!
I hope to see your answers so we can all use them in case we are affected by these skin problems.

THAT GLOW!

After reading such great shopping experiences on StrawberryNET.com, I decided to try and order a couple of things that I've been craving for a while. Far from getting dissapointed, I had one of the best shopping experiences ever, my package took less than 10 days to arrive and everything came beautifully wrapped. I thank my boyfriend in advance for paying everything 'cause later he will say that I say that 'he never buys anything for me' okay.. thanks sweety!

Sí, tenía toneladas de bronzer ese día / Yep, I had tons of bronzer that day

The Balm - Mary Lou-Manizer
Highlighter u$s24

Before taking makeup lessons I had no idea about what a 'highlighter' was but I was always admiring Kim Kardashian's glowy cheek bones. Since I started using highlighter quite often at making lessons I wanted to get my own one and I chose The Balm - Mary Lou Manizer.
I read lots of reviews and saw many pictures and swatches and I was quite happy with everything. Now that I have mine I'm even more happy. It's just great!
The picture above is not one of my bests but I thought I would need to use the flash to show the glowy skin effect, after I saw the picture I realized I spread highlighter all over my face making it look oily. Therefore I wouldn't suggest using it all over your face if you have oily skin like mine, keeping the center of the face matte is the clue.
As you might know there is other highlighters like the one from Benefit, but that's not just not made for me I think. I don't like using anything creamy (blushes, highlighters) since I have blemishes in my face and I would end up removing my foundation when applying these creamy things. So if you have blemishes or any kind of marks, best thing is using powder products.
I love this highlighter! Perfect for spring/summer that has just started here in South America.
I really love the healthy skin effect it gives to my skin. I tend to have my face always matt and never use shimmery stuff cause I don't want my marks to stand out but since it seems that I'm getting rid of acne now, I think this is the best choice for getting the healthy glowy skin effect. Perfect thing.

Ya probaron algún iluminador? De ser así cual es su preferido?
Have you ever tried using highlighter? If yes, which is your favorite?

Weekend on sale

Hola!

Hi! It's been a while since I last wrote, I've been working too much and I really don't like taking pictures in the night so I had to wait until the weekend to take them.
These last two weekends I've been going out with friends, had some delicious food and did some shopping. Winter is almost over here and all stores are on sale, and even thought I don't usually shop on sale season (I never find anything I like) I thought I could take a look and see if there was something interesting.
Found this leather platform boots at a very reasonable price (u$s 42) and even though winter here is almost over I thought I could really use them in Sweden since it's cold almost all year there and my current winter boots are kind of destroyed. Plus, it came with 3 free samples of Tres Emme Shampoo + Conditioner. Woho!
I also found these loafers with some details in gold and they are so comfy! too bad they didn't come with any free samples though, lol.
After that I went to a MAC store to buy a lipstick buy there was this Maybelline/L'oreal stand in the mall so I stopped and looked for a nail polish, Maybelline Colorama are so cheap I couldn't resist buying one, they are like u$s 2 each.

I know it looks like a 'HELLO I'M HERE'-lipstick but I'm actually loving it :) I've been looking for a light purple-light pink shade for a while and this is the one. My boyfriend says it's a bit too much for an everyday use but for me is okay. I applied two layers of lipstick so the color looks very pigmented and vibrant but with one it's just okay and it is still very creamy and moisturizing. I'm in love with this shade, love how it works on both pale and tan skin and the price is not bad :)
What's your favorite lipstick shade? Thanks for reading <3

Love,
Flo

Swedish Beauty

*Todas las fotos fueron tomadas por mi. All pictures were taken by me.

During last year and a little bit of this year I lived in Sweden with my boyfriend, like I previously mentioned in some other post (I think).
As far as I remember, I always wanted to live in Europe and I've always been interested in Scandinavian culture. Organization, perfect houses covered in snow, Gingerbread cookies, Pippi Longstocking, ahhh I do love all that.
Looks like Sweden was in my destiny cause cause I ended up meeting a Swedish boy and falling in love :)
He came here and when he left I had to follow him! It took me some weeks to do my bags and go visit Sweden thinking I would stay there for 3 months when they turned out being 5.
We lived in a small town and it was quite hard to adapt myself to that, I'm used to live in a big city and I don't like to be bored but there was some things to do. Even if the city was small, there still was lots of shops, but from time to time I had to go to Stockholm to fill my make up and fashion needs!
While I was in Stockholm I got to know many brands I never knew they existed. My sister-in-law is a beauty junkie and she guided me to everything.
On the following pictures I will show you girls my top 3 Swedish stores. If you guys are from Europe you might know about them and if you don't you should check them out sometime;)

KICKS

Kicks is like Sephora. They sell all kinds of makeup brands, hair products and girly stuff. They go from L'oreal, Max Factor and Maybelline till YSL, Guerlain and La Praire. It's pretty much a paradise for all the beauty junkies (like all swedish girls) and a good thing is that it is in almost all cities, not only Stockholm.
They have their own line, I doubt if they sell make up, but I've seen some sprays and nail polishes and I really loved them.
On the last picture you can see my little haul I got from Kicks (nail polishes and Lee Stafford spray), Topshop and H&M.

MAKE UP STORE

Make Up Store is a brand that has many stores all over the world, mainly in Scandinavia, Central America and Asia. I've also seen that there is one shop in the US, one in Canada and one in the UK.
It reminds me of MAC Cosmetics, it's kinda the same style but in my opinion it looks a bit fancier. The cosmetics have a good quality and they are not cheap but not expensive as YSL or Tom Ford.
In the last picture you can see my sister-in-law Maja buying a concealer with three different colors (you can see in pic 2). She says it's fantastic.

Åhléns is my favorite store. It's the largest department store in Sweden and it's around all the country. They have their own fashion and cosmetic line. You can find drugstore brands like Maybelline and also high-end brands like Chanel. They sell absolutely everything, they even have a supermarket and a restaurant! On the last picture I'm eating a donut haha, I was so excited I wanted to try everything.
It's the perfect place if you have some money to spend and it's the worst place to go with a boyfriend!

Realmente espero no aburrirlas!

I hope you guys liked the pictures! Even if I am not so into telling stuff about my private life or uploading lots of pics of myself (I'm a bit shy), it is kind of hard to talk about beauty stuff without sharing with you all those moments that led me into making a beauty blog. I really hope I'm not boring you girls! And I'm sorry for my English, I do my best :/
Thanks for reading, love and good weekend for y'all !

How to: Pink Zebra Nails

I'm tired of always doing my nails the same way and failing everytime I wanna try some nail art, so last Sunday I tried something different: Pink zebra nails.
I'm quite messy when doing my nails but this nail art is pretty easy to do and depending the color you use it will look amazing for summer or winter. Spring is coming soon here so I thought this color would look great. Follow the following steps!

You need a base coat, a nail polish, a thin nail art brush or another nail polish that is the same color as the first one (or quite similar) that has a very thin brush and a matte top coat.

Dejar secar.

Apply your base coat and let it dry. Add one or two layers of your nail polish. Let it dry again.

Once they are dry apply one coat of of your matte finisher nail polish, let it dry.

Take your nail art nail polish and draw some lines starting from the sides of your nails towards the center of it. If you don't have a nail polish like this you can simple take a thin brush and use the same nail polish you used in the step 2.

Disfruten sus uñas y siganme en Instagram @flo_alarcon
Buena semana!
