Tällberg

So I completely forgot about my blog for over a month. Well, I did think about it a bit but I just couldn't sit and think about writing. I guess sometimes you just need a break.
But now I'm back and I don't know if I'll be blogging every week or if I'll come back when I feel like saying something, like for example: Have you guys seen the Disney movie Frozen? I've been obssessed with it for weeks! I haven't been crazy about a Disney movie since I saw Mulan or Toy Story.

I've also been away a little bit. I went to Tällberg for a weekend with my boyfriend, his dad and his stepmother. They gave us this trip as one Christmas gift and I've been very excited about it since we got the news.
Tällberg is a little pictoresque village located in center of Sweden just a few hours away from Stockholm. Only 200 people live there and absolutely everything is made of wood. It's just a big picture of the Swedish culture and everything Sweden means.
Tällberg doesn't have any shopping malls or commercial things, just a few shops where they only sell handmade clothing and souvenirs and the whole village smells like a huge fireplace. There aren't any extreme activities and when I asked what we were going to do there my boyfriend said: nothing, just be there. And that exactly what we did: take long walks, sit and enjoy some Smörgåsbord (typical swedish food with lots of salmon, eggs, caviar and potatoes), drink wine and having some fika (Swedish afternoon tea that comes along with cinammon rolls and other pastries).

Tällberg is the cutest little place I've ever been to, we went to an hotel that 600 years ago was a little farm owned by the same family that nowadays manages the hotel. Everything was made of wood and looked so antique. All the rooms were absolutely beautiful and cozy. I just wanted to stay there forever even if we weren't doing anything special there, it just felt so peaceful to be there.

One thing that surprised me is that even if this village is located in the middle of nowhere where there is absolutely anything to do, the hotel was full of people. Apparently Tällberg is a place where typical Swedish families get together to spend some quality time and that is something I love about Swedes... They don't need too much to be happy... just good food and drinks.

Even if I went to Tällberg a month ago I still miss that place and hope I can get back there sometime. I truly suggest that place to anyone that wants to have a true Swedish experience.

Como que me olvidé completamente de mi blog, no? De hecho pensé en él pero no me podía sentar a escribir. A veces todos necesitamos un tiempo lejos de ciertas cosas.

Pero ahora volví y aunque no sé si estaré subiendo cosas cada semana al menos subiré algo cuando sienta que debo decir algo importante. Por ejemplo: ¿Vieron la película Frozen de Disney? Estuve obsesionada con esa peli por semanas! Hace mucho que una peli de Disney no me pega tan fuerte, creo que desde que vi Mulan o Toy Story!

A parte de eso hace un mes viajé un poquito. El papá de mi novio y su esposa nos regalaron para navidad un viaje a Tällberg y anduve ansiosa desde que me enteré.

Tällberg es pueblo chiquito muy pintoresco localizado en el centro de Suecia apenas a un par de horas de Estocolmo. Sólo 200 personas viven ahí y todo en el pueblo está hecho de madera, es como una postal gigante de la cultura sueca y todo lo que Suecia es. 

En Tllberg no hay shoppings ni locales grandes, de hecho casi ni hay actividad comercial, mucho menos excursiones y actividades extremas, sólo un par de tiendas que venden ropa y souvenires hechos a mano. 

Imaginense que tres meses antes yo ya le estaba preguntando a Linus que ibamos a hacer allá y el me decía nada... solo relajarnos. Y eso hicimos... y lo disfruté muchísimo. 

A ver, yo no soy de las personas que viajan para tirarse a dormir en una cama, de hecho me da mucha bronca desperdiciar el tiempo así pero en Tällberg tenía mucho sentido. Es el lugar mas relajante que existe y el pueblo en sí huele a leña (máaas fiaca todavía).

Este pueblito es lo más lindo que ví, es como esos dibujos que uno ve en cuentos para niños onda 

la casita de madera, la nieve alrededor, comida caliente en la mesa de madera. Todo era para sacarle foto. 

El hotel donde paramos hace 600 años atrás era una granja y los dueños de esa granja hoy en día son los dueños del hotel. Es muy loco pensar que hace 600 años la misma familia maneja este asunto y se nota que realmente aman este lugar, todo está hecho con amor y dedicación. La comida típica sueca era increíble, la decoración y el servicio, impecables.

Algo que me sorprendió es que si bien este pueblo está en el medio de la nada, los hoteles estaban llenos y es aparentemente porque muchas familias suecas tienen la tradición de reunirse ahí para festejar cumpleaños, casamientos o simplemente porque sí y eso me encanta. Los suecos son personas muy simples y lo único que necesitan es buena comida y buena bebida.

Ya pasó un mes desde que fui a Tällberg y muero por volver. Mega recomendado para quien quiera experimentar la cultura sueca.

Nails inc: The icons

Not so long ago I went to my nearest Sephora just to feed my eyes a little bit, keeping in mind that I'm not supposed to spend any money on makeup until I find a new job.
However, Sephora had different plans for me and I ended up getting the YSL Babydoll mascara and this Nails Inc mini nail polish set called The icons. I've never tried Nails inc nail polishes before and this set of their three best-selling shades was reduced from £12 to £7 so I thought, why not?

This set comes with the shades Tate, George Street and Old Bond Street. Tate is a classic red that can look very deep and sophisticated with only two coats. In the picture I'm only wearing one. George Street is probably my favorite, I was missing a perfect delicate nude and this is the one. Old Bond Street is my least favorite since I don't really like violet nail polishes but I can't say this one is bad, I just don't like the color.

Overall I'm quite satisfied with the quality of these nail polishes, they are creamy, glossy, very pigmented, dry pretty fast and you can get a great coverage with only one coat, even with the lightest shade like George Street. I'll definitely try other shades in the future!

No hace mucho tiempo pasé por mi Sephora más cercano para deleitar mis ojos un poco, teniendo en cuenta que no debo gastar plata en maquillaje hasta que consiga un trabajo. 

Lamentablemente, Sephora tenía otros planes para mi y terminé llevándome la máscara Babydoll de YSL y este set de mini esmaltes de uñas de Nails Inc llamado The Icons. 

Nunca antes probé esta marca y este set que viene con sus tres tonos más vendidos estaba reducido de 12 a 7 libras.. unos 91 pesos por tres esmaltes... ¿Cómo dejar pasar esta oportunidad?

Este set viene con los tonos Tate, George Street y Old Bond Street. Tate es un rojo clásico, no demasiado vibrante pero sí muy sofisticado con dos capas (en la foto sólo tengo una). George Street es mi tono favorito, hasta ahora no tenía ningun nude y este es hermoso y se ve muy delicado. Old Bond Street no me gusta tanto ya que es violeta (y no me gustan los violetas en general) pero no puedo decir que es malo, sólo no me gusta a mi.

En general estoy súper satisfecha con la calidad de Nails Inc, los esmaltes tienen acabado cremoso, son muy pigmentados, secan rápido y se puede lograr una cobertura decente con sólo una capa hasta en los tonos más claros como George Street.. eso es todo lo que busco en un esmalte de uñas así que estaré probando más tonos en el futuro!

Waiting for spring

Fresh tulips, lots of food, messy long hair, books and family. That's how I like to spend the last days of a winter that seems to last forever. 

I've been living in Sweden three months now and I'm just starting to believe it. The fact that I go to school from Monday to Friday makes me realize that I'm no longer a tourist and that this is the start of a new life where I have to find a job, pay bills and most important, speak Swedish. I'm terrified.

I'm sorry for the lack of beauty posts, I know my blog is more like a personal blog these days and that it's just because I feel like sharing with the world all these new things that are happening to me right now. I hope you don't mind ;)

Tulipanes, mucha comida, pelo revuelto, libros y familia. Así me gusta pasar los últimos días de este invierno que parece interminable.

Ya casi pasaron tres meses desde que vivo en Suecia y recién comienzo a creerlo. El hecho de ir a la escuela de lunes a viernes me hace darme cuenta de que ya no soy una turista y que este es el comienzo de una nueva vida donde tengo que conseguir un trabajo, pagar cuentas y más importante, hablar sueco. Estoy aterrada.

Pido disculpas por la falta de beauty posts, últimamente mi blog se esta convirtiendo en algo personal y eso es porque siento que tengo que compartir con todos estas nuevas cosas que me están pasando. Espero que no les importe ;)

My Go-To Makeup Look

Since I moved to Sweden I feel like wearing a lot more make up than I'd normally do and that is probably  because in Argentina girls don't wear as much make up as European girls. Here the ladies are not afraid of rocking a dark lipstick in the daylight and I absolutely love that. A few months ago I wouldn't have felt comfortable wearing lipstick at 7 am but now I do that... everyday!

I've been also trying to get out of my comfort zone and start wearing stronger eye make up looks at any time. My favorite make up look at the moment is this golden brown smokey eye with nude lips, it's very easy to do and I love how it suits my brown eyes.

To prime my eyes I use the Rimmel Scandaleyes shadow stick in the color Blackmail, it's very pigmented and it doesn't smudge. I also like to start with a black base since the day a girl in a Mac counter told me that the Woodwinked eyeshadow looks amazing applied over a black base. I tried both ways and over a black base it looks 10x more pigmented and beautiful. 

I wear then Mac Woodwinked all over my lids with some dark brown and black matte eyeshadows in the corners of the eye and the crease. Under the brow bone I wear a pale cream matte eyeshadow. I like to wear black eyeliner in my waterline and smudge it. Then I do a cat eyeline, curl my eyelashes and apply one YSL Babydoll mascara. 

Since my lips are a bit small for my taste, I line them with the Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic lip liner in the shade Innocent and then I apply some Nyx Pumpkin Pie lipstick.

Desde que llegué a Suecia me dieron ganas de usar más maquillaje, probablemente sea porque en Europa en general las mujeres usan muchísimo más make up que en Argentina. No todas obvio, pero acá no es extraño ver a chicas con los labios violeta a las 10 de la mañana... y eso me encanta! 

Siempre fui de querer usar más maquillaje, si no para que uno compra tanto? Pero me daba cosita, la verdad que no me gusta llamar la atención pero acá nadie te da pelota y si me dicen algo.. jamás lo entenderé! 

Aparte de experimentar usando labiales a las 7 am, también estoy queriendo salir de mi comfort zone y usar colores mas fuertes en los ojos a cualquier hora. Mi look favorito ultimamente es un smokey eye marrón con dorado y lo uso muchísimo.

Como base para la sombra uso Rimmel Scandaleyes shadow en el tono Blackmail, es súper pigmentada y no se sale. Me gusta usar una base negra para la sombra porque luego uso Mac Woodwink y el día que compré esta sombra la chica de Mac me dijo que queda hermosa sobre una base negra, probé de ambas formas y aplicada sobre base negra queda mil veces mejor.

Aparte de Mac Woodwinked, uso dos sombras matte, una marron y una negra, las aplico en los costados y cuenca del ojo y las disfumino. Debajo de la ceja uso una sombra crema matte.

Para darle un aspecto más fuerte al look uso delineador en lapiz en la línea de agua y lo disfumino. Luego me delineo el ojo con algún delineador en marcador, me arqueo las pestañas y uso máscara, en este caso YSL Babydoll.

Como tengo labios chiquitos me los delineo con el delineador de Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic en el tono Innocence y luego uso mi labial nude Nyx Pumpkin pie. Les gusta el look?

A Valentine's Kiss

Tomorrow can be sort of a special day for those who are not single and love to find reasons to celebrate. I'm very happy to fit in that category and tomorow will actually be the first St.Valentine's day I spend with somebody I love.
I've met my boyfriend over internet almost 5 years ago and it took us 2 years to get the courage to meet face to face. We met in Argentina and the next month I was already in Sweden, I came back before Valentine's day and somehow we couldn't be together that day for the last two years.
To be honest, he doesn't really care about special days and we haven't planned anything special. We are going to his parents town which is small and cozy and for me that's the best way to spend it; with family and people you love.

Even if my Valentine's day plans are nothing fancy and I probably end up in the local bar of the smallest town in Sweden, I do not want to miss the opportunity to wear my current favorite lip menu:
First of all, Lush Bubblegum lip scrub that leaves my lips soft and smooth and tastes delicious. Since I will be using lip liner I must use lip balm, I recently got the Weleda Everon Lip balm and omg it's amazing, it doesn't have the greasy and light consistency of most lip balms, this one is very thick and melts in the lips. It contains jojoba oil, organic shea butter and rose wax and reminds me a lot of Nuxe Reve de Miel.
I hardly ever wear lip liners but I figured out it was about time to use my MAC Brick lip liner, MAC says it's a golden red and I say it's more like a light red that can dry lips a little bit but it will last the whole day.
Last but not least I use my new favorite red lipstick, Mac Red (satin), a bright red with blue undertones that has a creamy velvety finish that for me it's just the non drying creamy version of Ruby woo (matte).

Mañana puede ser un día especial para aquellos que no están solteros o simplemente siempre encuentran razones para celebrar. Felizmente admito que encajo en esas dos categorías y para mí mañana es un día especial ya que es la primera vez que voy a pasar un Día de los enamorados con alguien que amo.
Como todas saben ya, conocí a mi novio por internet hace casi 5 años y nos tomó 2 juntar el coraje para conocernos cara a cara. Por alguna razón nunca pudimos pasar este día juntos pero sí nos mandabamos cartitas y esas cosas.
Honestamente a Linus no le importa mucho este día, no planeamos nada wow pero vamos a viajar al pueblo donde viven sus padres y me parece que esa es la mejor manera de pasarlo; con gente que uno quiere.

Aunque no vayamos a hacer nada increíble mañana, no quiero perder la chance de usar mi lips menu favorito en este momento:
Empiezo con Lush Bubblegum scrub, un exfoliante de labios que los deja suave y tiene sabor a chicle (se puede comer!), luego uso mi bálsamo de labios de Weleda Everon Lip Balm que es un divinor, no tiene la consistencía tipica resbalosa sino que este es mucho mas denso y sabe a miel. Tiene aceite de jojoba, cera de rosa, manteca de karité orgánica y me recuerda muchísimo a Nuxe Reve de Miel pero este de Weleda cuesta 4 veces menos.
Para que el labial me dure voy a usar mi Mac Brick Lip Liner que es un rojo muy suave con algunos tonos naranja, es medio secativo pero dura todo el día. 
Finalmente, mi nuevo labial favorito MAC Red, un rojo fuerte con tonos azules y acabado cremoso. Pertenece a la linea Satin y es la versión no secativa de Mac Rubo woo (matte).
