Baby, it's HOT outside... My Melt-Proof Summer Essentials

Now that the Southern Hemisphere is getting considerably warm, (32°C last Sunday) it's time to talk about waterproof options. And after years of struggling with my skin type I've finally accepted my skin is very oily and there's nothing I can do about that but learn to live with it. I've tried tons of products that claim to 'fight oily skin', 'control/absorb oils', you name it... most of them never worked for me.
But this whole post isn't entirely dedicated to oily skin girls but also to those who easily sweat or that simply need extra help during summer times.
And as you can see, the list is quite short, I'm looking forward to try lots more which I'll name in the end of the post but for now, these are my sweet picks:

The Moisturizer: At the moment I'm loving La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat ($30.95) which I reviewed on my last post, it's gel based, feels light, and on the contrary to its name, it doesn't leave the skin looking matte or minimizes pores. You may be wondering why I like it? Cause it does control the oil production while leaving the skin looking plump and moisturized.
The Primers: My all time favorite primer is Lumene Mattifying and Retexturizing Primer ($19.00) which makes your skin soft as a baby's bottom, minimizes pores and also really works controlling oils and sweat. It has the same silicony consistency than Benefit The Porefessional but it's ten times better since it does a complete job being 10 dollars cheaper. Bad news is you can only get it in Sweden, Finland or Norway as far as I know. However, if you really want one you can e-mail me and I'm sure I can go buy it and ship it for you.
Other primer I like is the Laura Mercier Oil-free Foundation Primer ($19.50 travel size), it has a white liquid consistency that looks like a cleansing milk and a tiny bit goes a long way. It does not minimizes pores unfortunately but it will contain those oils and swear for some good hours.
The Foundation: There are so many I tried and many more I'd like to try but the Revlon Colorstay for Comb. to Oily Skin ($10.00-$13.00) is my favorite, it's thick and heavy but it absorbs the oils and definitely controls sweat. I've used it for partying the last weekend with more than 30°C and it didn't even move. Smudge-proof, waterproof, melt-proof, this foundation is all I need.
The Concealer: I've tried many concealers that are heavy enough to cover my acne marks and at the same time don't melt and I think that MAC Pro Longwear Concealer ($19.00) is the absolute best! It has a liquid consistency which confuses since you won't think it's so damn pigmented. It feels very light on the skin and covers all my acne scarring and marks which are many. I also like the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage ($32.00) since won't smudge either but it definitely cakes up as since it's so thick and heavy. The MAC Pro Longwear concealer doesn't cake up and won't smudge either. Both are oil-free.
The Setting Spray: I've tried the ELF Studio Makeup Mist & Set ($3.00) and it was nice and refreshing but it did nothing for my oily skin. After watching so many Youtube videos where the Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray ($29.00) is reviewed I decided to give it a go and bought it. This stuff really works but I don't want my skin to get used to it so I only use it on special ocasions or when the weather is just too hot (over 30°C). I usually spray this onto my face after moisturizer+primer+foundation+concealer and let it dry a bit. It feels like water and doesn't leave the skin looking matte or glowy, just normal. I find that my foundation lasts more when I use this spray and that I need less blotting.
The Powder: I haven't tried too many powders since I started using the MAC Blot Pressed Powder ($25.00), it's so thin, light and absorbs the oils so well that I don't want to spend my money trying anything else. I use the shade Medium which may look too light but it's so think you can't even notice it on the skin.
Eyeliner?: Not in the face range but this one had to be in my summer esentials as it's working so well lately. The KIKO Ultimate Pen Long Wear Eyeliner is a felt tip eyeliner that has great pigmentation and the best staying power. I'm using it everyday and it's not smudging at all.

So these are all the products I can't live without, these are probably my all time favorites since they never seem to fail me.
I'm really looking forward to try more oil/sweat control products such as:

- Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector (€36.00)

- Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation SPF 15 ($38.00)
- Joeur Matte Moisture Tint ($38.00)
-MUFE Full Cover Concealer ($29.00)
-Nars Smudge Proof Eyesahdow Base ($24.00)
- Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder ($32.00)

Have you tried any of these? If so, tell me how they worked for you!
Love xx Flo !

- Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector (€36.00)
- Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation SPF 15 ($38.00)
- Joeur Matte Moisture Tint ($38.00)
-MUFE Full Cover Concealer ($29.00)
-Nars Smudge Proof Eyesahdow Base ($24.00)
- Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder ($32.00)

¿Probaron alguno de estos productos? Ustedes también estan padeciendo el calor?
Cuéntenme que andan usando! Besotes, Flo xx

  13. I have the mac blot powder and I also really like it. It keeps my skin in check for nearly half a day ( which is a lot in my case) and is doesn't make your face look too powdery!

  14. While I don't use primer regularly, I do want to try the Laura Mercier one. I've heard lots of good things about the La Roche-Posay moisturiser too :) I didn't even know KIKO did felt tip eyeliners - I would've picked one up had I noticed when I was at a KIKO store in Milan!

  15. Thank you for the sweet comment <3, it's much appreciated! Things are looking much better now - but, I dropped my phone in the toilet at work and I lent my parents my camera for their vacation so I was cameraless for a while! My friend lent me her old iPhone and I can't jailbreak it, but at least I can take pictures now!

Setting spray is a must for me! Even if it's chilly outside, because it seems to make my makeup last FOREVER if it's a good quality one. I don't even bring any makeup with me to touch up because I don't have to. I've even slept with my makeup on with a setting spray before (shhhh, I was tired) and it looked the same the next morning! I've used Urban Decay, Motives, and Skindinavia setting sprays and they all work fantastic. Though I believe all of them are manufactured by Skindinavia, haha :P

  20. Qué buen posttt! Amo todo los detalles!
Yo tengo piel normal, tirando a seca y más recientemente descubierta sensible!! No puedo creer que tengo piel sensible. Sigh! Me quiero matar!! jaja
Me hiciste extrañar mi colorstay foundation!

    Besotes!!!
